If you want to attract literate birds to your garden, you need to provide them with the appropriate accommodations. So, a literary birdhouse seems like a good bet. We librarians love it.
But there’s more to it than that. Certain kinds of literature will attract certain kinds of birds. Catcher in the Rye by J. D. Salinger will attract an unsatisfied bird, whereas The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett will attract a younger crowd.
I, on the other hand, would like to attract a more culinary bird. Therefore, I’m contemplating hanging The French Chef Cookbook by Julia Child. How can you go wrong with that. You’ll clearly get a more cultured bird.
Whatever your pleasure, there’s probably a birdhouse made especially for your garden.
